4-5 Weeks before move

• We advise for you to rent a mail forwarding service. They are very cheap and you will ensure that all your Mail will get to you. Advise your local Post office of the new address and begin the process now. This allows Enough time for you to feel comfortable with the service.   3. All your insurance policies
  4. Your Credit Card companies
  5. Medical institutions
  6. Your membership to Magazines, Newspapers, & Clubs.
• During this time you should decide what you will pack, what the movers will pack, what stays and what goes.
• All of the packing done by you should have labels describing what is inside, fragile and positioning of the box.
• If the packing is done by you then a detailed inventory list must be accumulated, as well as piece count. Every box must clearly indicate its contents.
• At this time you should research the destination driving license requirements,
• You should contact your local consulate for any specific visas and forms that can free you from duties.

Certificate of Insurance Building owners often require Certificate of Insurance (COI) from relocation companies in advance. This certificate names the building owner as insured to protect both the owner and the Relocation Company in the unlikely event of damage to the common areas of the building. Kindly confirm with your building management if COI is required, in order for us to arrange it beforehand.

3 Weeks before move

• Make sure you advise PriceBreak!Shipping agents if you have less or more items, if any changes to the pick Pick up date. The more time we have the smoother the transition is for all of us.
• Please advise what items you will need packing, what items you will pack you’re self.
• If you relocation consist of a car, make sure that you have the title, fax a copy to your agent, and wait for Instructions, if its only a car via roro then we have the Car transporter take the title with him, if the car is Loaded on your exclusive container then you will be instructed to mail the title to our local Customs Broker to clear you title for export.
• If you pets are relocating with you make arrangements to do so, contact your consulate for the latest Information for the pet vaccination that your country requires.
• Make sure you secured all your small valuable jewels.
• Make sure your building or community is aware of your move and advise your agent if you require any permits In your building elevator or your community.

2 Weeks before move

• Transfer all your prescription to your physician at your destination.
• Make sure you have all computer back up files,
• Make the first round of inspecting your entire home for items.
• Items that cannot be shipped: Fire Arms, Illegal Drugs, plants, seeds, Perishable items, explosives, Make arrangements to get rid of them.
• Make sure all bottles such as cleaning supplies are sealed.
• All motor vehicles must have the fuel tank emptied and battery removed as per Homeland security.
• Contact your services providers for Cable, internet provider, to pick up equipment. .
• Should you need storage, Please notify your agent and we will make arrangements
• Have your vehicle serviced by the dealer for the last time, and obtain information about local dealers at your destination.

1 Week before move

• Make sure to check your “To Do List” so you won’t forget anything.
• Make sure you clean and defrost your refrigerator, you can leave some crumbled news papers to absorb order We recommend this then baking soda due to the breakage of the box.

• Make sure your agents has all updated information about your destination address and contact information, Lacking this can create delays and unexpected fees at destination.
• Make arrangement for payment with your agent on the day of the move.
• Make sure you have filled out all additional insurance forms and fax it to your agent for processing.
• Don’t forget clothes at the dry cleaner.
• Don’t forget to return Books and videos
• Make sure you prepared the items you most need for the first few weeks to be with you. Documents, etc.
• Prepare to return all your keys, remote controls to the real estate agent or the new owner.
• If you intent to keep you home closed, notify your neighbors, family, friends and local police.

Moving Day! This is it!

• Please make sure that you are available for this date, it is very important that You see and approve all work. Your signatures will be required on certain documents and Packing charges will need your specific approval. In the event that you cannot be there, designate Someone who you trust to make these decisions for you, at the very least make yourself available Via phone or internet. Should a critical decision arouse we will want you to be aware and approve.
• Review all the paper work with the driver, ensure all items are loaded and handled correctly, and advise on any special care to movers as well. DO NOT SIGN anything you do not understand, you can always call our Offices to double check the accuracy.
• Make sure you remain on site until the move is complete, inspect all documentation of movers, furniture notation damages. It is your responsibility to make sure everything is loaded to the truck. Inspect the home again. The mover must advise you if you have additional volume then the estimated volume on your contract. The mover’s volume is not binding only the receiving terminal is, but the mover can advise you of roughly The volume that he loaded. He must then have you sign and agreed to this. • Depending on the services ordered the following be of help to you:

Door to Door services: Full pick up, Ocean and full destination services; the destination agent will contact you for delivery so it’s very important that we have accurate contact and delivery information. Have plans on where you would like to have your furniture positioned and advise the agent to do so. Most destination services include Customs Clearance & Port Fees, certain countries are not included, and if this is a destination of yours you will be advised. Fumigation, quarantine, local Govt. duties and Demurrage charges are not included.
  2. Door to Port services: This service is generally a full pick and up with ocean freight to the destination country receiving terminal. You are always responsible for Custom Clearance & Port Fees. Fumigation, quarantine, local Govt. duties and Demurrage charges are not included. You are also responsible for picking up your items from the terminal at destination. You will be given a copy of your Bill of Lading, it will indicate who and when to call for your shipment. There is generally a 5 day grace period from the offloading of your items to when you need to pick them up. Fees are very expensive so do not delay.
  3. Port to Port services: This is the most basic and economical way of shipping small amounts. This is ideal for up to 200 cubic feet, something that you can bring to our terminal and arrange for pick up at destination. You will need to have all items boxed, labeled and have a detailed inventory with piece count. You are always responsible for Custom Clearance & Port Fees. Fumigation, quarantine, local Govt. duties and Demurrage charges are not included. You will be given a copy of your Bill of Lading, it will indicate who and when to call for your shipment. After Moving / Delivery date

• Inspect your items, should any damage occurred during the move you will need to contact our claims department to process your incident.
